Next Steps AmeriCorps is a college success and retention program that supports Temple University students through community service, leadership development, mentorship, and professional growth opportunities. Participants, known as AmeriCorps members, serve approximately 300 hours throughout the academic year, dedicating about 10 to 12 hours per week to service activities, workshops, and leadership development experiences. Members are placed with community-focused nonprofit organizations and participate in cohort-wide professional development and service events.

 

In addition to service, members provide mentorship to incoming first-year students and build valuable leadership and career readiness skills. Eligible students can receive their Federal Work-Study awards and earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award upon successful completion of their service term.
